As Verizon Wireless phases out of its brick-and-mortar Albuquerque call center and transition into having its employees working from home by May 2019, a similar movement is happening at six other Verizon call centers.
Last month, Albuquerque Business First broke the news that the Albuquerque call center, which Verizon invested $30 million into in 2006, would close next spring. Verizon said no layoffs would take place of the "about 1,000" employees who would be given the option to work from home.
