A new report shows growth in New Mexico's biosciences industry.
According to the Biotechnology Innovation Organization, New Mexico saw bioscience employment growth of 3.6 percent between 2014 and 2016.
But that number pales in comparison to bordering states, as the graphic below shows.
In The Land of Enchantment, biosciences accounted for about 7,221 jobs in 2016 and drew over $188 million in research and development expenditures, accounting for 53 percent of all such funding within the state.
